Why Computers Were Invented

Every technology we use today exists because someone faced a problem that could not be solved efficiently with the tools available at that time. Computers are no exception. To understand why computers were invented, we must first look at how humans managed calculations before computers existed.

🪨 In ancient times, people counted using their fingers, stones, bones, and sticks. These simple methods were enough for small tasks such as tracking food, animals, or trade. As civilizations grew, however, the amount of information and calculations increased dramatically. People needed to manage larger populations, measure land, record transactions, and solve increasingly complex problems.

🧮 To overcome these challenges, humans invented calculators. Calculators made arithmetic faster, more accurate, and more reliable. They became valuable tools for students, merchants, engineers, bankers, and many other professionals. However, calculators were designed mainly for straightforward numerical calculations and struggled when tasks became larger and more complex.
